How We Actually Structure These Services

Look, pricing pages usually skip the practical stuff. But here's what you're getting at each level and why we built it this way.

Foundation Level Reality

This isn't hand-holding for beginners. It's focused guidance for people who understand investing basics but want experienced oversight. You'll get monthly check-ins where we review what's working and what's not. The quarterly briefings cover shifts in the Canadian market that might affect your positions. Simple, regular, useful.

Why Monthly Works

We tried weekly calls at this tier back in 2023. Honestly? Too frequent. Markets don't move that fast, and you end up discussing noise rather than signal. Monthly gives enough time to see meaningful patterns while keeping you engaged with your strategy.

Professional Tier Differences

The jump to bi-weekly sessions matters more than it sounds. When you're actively managing a diverse portfolio, two weeks is the sweet spot for tactical adjustments. Plus, you get access to our screening tools that we normally reserve for institutional clients. That alone saves hours of research time.

What Rebalancing Actually Means

We're not talking about automated portfolio drift corrections. This is strategic reallocation based on changing market conditions and your evolving goals. Sometimes that means doing nothing. Other times it means restructuring 30% of your holdings over a quarter. Depends entirely on what makes sense for your situation.

What Clients Say About Working With Us

"

I switched to the Professional tier in March 2024 after outgrowing my previous advisor. The difference is night and day. They caught a correlation issue in my portfolio that could've cost me during that summer downturn. Worth every dollar of the upgrade.

Started with Foundation just to test the waters. Their quarterly briefings actually contained information I hadn't seen elsewhere, which surprised me. The monthly reviews keep me accountable without feeling micromanaged. Exactly what I needed as someone managing their own portfolio seriously for the first time.

Common Questions About Our Pricing

People usually want to know about contracts, what happens if they need to scale up or down, and whether there are hidden fees. Fair questions.

Can I switch between tiers?

Yes, and it happens pretty regularly. You can move up anytime during your billing cycle and we'll prorate the difference. Moving down requires 30 days notice so we can properly transition your service level. No penalties either direction.

What's not included in these prices?

Transaction costs, custody fees, and any third-party data subscriptions you might need. We're advisory only. Also, if you want custom research beyond what's included in Enterprise, that's billed separately at $180/hour. Everything else is in the monthly fee.

Do you require minimum portfolio size?

Foundation works for portfolios starting around $25,000. Professional makes more sense once you're above $100,000. Enterprise is typically for $500,000 and up, though we've made exceptions for complex situations with smaller amounts. It's about complexity more than pure dollar value.

How do contracts work?

Month-to-month after an initial three-month commitment. We used to do annual contracts but found they created weird incentives on both sides. Three months gives us enough time to deliver value and you enough time to evaluate fit. After that, cancel anytime with 30 days notice.

What if I just need a one-time review?

We offer standalone portfolio audits for $850. Takes about two weeks, includes a detailed written report and a 90-minute review meeting. If you decide to sign up for ongoing service within 60 days, we credit that $850 toward your first month.
